Jose Gaign's journey into fundraising began not in a boardroom, but on doorsteps. Starting as a door-to-door fundraiser for UK health charities, he quickly discovered something that would define his entire career: the most effective fundraising is built on genuine human connection, not pressure tactics.
That conviction led him to break multiple fundraising records, earning recognition as Salesperson of the Year at the European Marketing Convention — an award that validated what he had always believed: ethical approaches don't just feel right, they outperform everything else.
With over 12 years of frontline experience across the UK health charity sector, Jose founded Gaign Strategic Fundraising Ltd. to bring his done-with-you approach to small and mid-sized charities that needed strategic guidance without the corporate overhead. As a registered consultant with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, he works side-by-side with charity teams on everything from grant writing to donor engagement, having generated over £2.5 million in fundraising revenue for his clients.
